The major internet marketers all suggest that you should find your niche. They go into detail on how to find keywords while drilling down to find your best niche market. Then, either fined PLR articles or goes to an article site like ezinearticles.com and fined some content. The best way to get content, but very time consuming is to write own articles.

Consequently, the next step they tell us is to create a simple website about your niche. This can either be done with software like FrontPage, Dreamweaver, or many free products on in the web. Then do some basic SEO and then your good to go.

Now, you have a great site with loads of content. So, sign up for Google Adsense and sit back and wait for the money to roll in.

Now you are going to wait, and wait, and wait…

Everyone tells you that in order to make money you need clicks and customers. But, none of the gurus really tell you how to find those customers.

One of in the best ways to find visitors for your website is article marketing. All you must do is simply is write a short 300 to 500 word article on your niche subject. The beauty of this system is it is simple and works fairly fast.

Just write about a keyword on your niche market that you haven’t used yet. Include the keyword in the Title, 1st paragraph, maybe once or twice throughout in the body and in the last paragraph. It doesn’t have to be very fancy. Just make the article informative. You can research the subject on in the internet, your local library or my favorite place, a Borders bookstore and cafe.

I usually buy a glass of ice tea and a cookie and jot down information in my notebook I acquire from reading some of in the books there. I always put the information in outline form. And, I always read a few sources. Then, when I go home I can use the outline to help me write the article. This is a great way to write your own articles without plagiarizing someone else.

The last part of your article and the most important part for getting traffic is your resource box. This is your advertisement to get people to your website. Your resource box also does double duty with providing you with the very important backlinks to your website. Backlinks help you with Page Rank in Google and help you rank better in the other search engines.

Take a line or two and describe yourself and your website. Then put a link to your website and use a keyword that you would like pointing to rank better and be found in the search engines with.

Submit your article to a few sites like ezinearticles.com and goarticles.com. To locate more sites just search for “article sites.” Then, repeat in the submitting process.

You will discover that your article usually will take a few days to a few weeks before finding its way into the search engines. Providing your article is well written and informative, you will be surprised as to how many backlinks and new visitors you will receive.instant-marketing-magic.com

Cold as ice: Wikinews interviews Marymegan Daly on unusual new sea anemone

Tuesday, January 21, 2014

In late 2010 a geological expedition to Antarctica drilled through the Ross Ice Shelf so they could send an ROV under it. What they found was unexpected: Sea anemones. In their thousands they were doing what no other species of sea anemone is known to do — they were living in the ice itself.

Discovered by the ANDRILL [Antarctic Drilling] project, the team was so unprepared for biological discoveries they did not have suitable preservatives and the only chemicals available obliterated the creature’s DNA. Nonetheless Marymegan Daly of Ohio State University confirmed the animals were a new species. Named Edwardsiella andrillae after the drilling project that found it, the anemone was finally described in a PLOS ONE paper last month.

ANDRILL lowered their cylindrical camera ROV down a freshly-bored 270m (890ft) hole, enabling it to reach seawater below the ice. The device was merely being tested ahead of its planned mission retrieving data on ocean currents and the sub-ice environment. Instead it found what ANDRILL director Frank Rack of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, a co-author of the paper describing the find, called the “total serendipity” of “a whole new ecosystem that no one had ever seen before”.

The discovery raises many questions. Burrowing sea anemones worm their way into substrates or use their tentacles to dig, but it’s unclear how E. andrillae enters the hard ice. With only their tentacles protruding into the water from the underneath of the ice shelf questions also revolve around how the animals avoid freezing, how they reproduce, and how they cope with the continuously melting nature of their home. Their diet is also a mystery.

What fascinates me about sea anemones is that they’re able to do things that seem impossible

E. andrillae is an opaque white, with an inner ring of eight tentacles and twelve-to-sixteen tentacles in an outer ring. The ROV’s lights produced an orange glow from the creatures, although this may be produced by their food. It measures 16–20mm (0.6–0.8in) but when fully relaxed can extend to triple that.

Genetic analysis being impossible, Daly turned to dissection of the specimens but could find nothing out of the ordinary. Scientists hope to send a biological mission to explore the area under the massive ice sheet, which is in excess of 600 miles (970km) wide. The cameras also observed worms, fish that swim inverted as if the icy roof was the sea floor, crustaceans and a cylindrical creature that used appendages on its ends to move and to grab hold of the anemones.

NASA is providing funding to aid further research, owing to possible similarities between this icy realm and Europa, a moon of Jupiter. Biological research is planned for 2015. An application for funding to the U.S. National Science Foundation, which funds ANDRILL, is also pending.

The ANDRILL team almost failed to get any samples at all. Designed to examine the seafloor, the ROV had to be inverted to examine the roof of ice. Weather conditions prevented biological sampling equipment being delivered from McMurdo Station, but the scientists retrieved 20–30 anemones by using hot water to stun them before sucking them from their burrows with an improvised device fashioned from a coffee filter and a spare ROV thruster. Preserved on-site in ethanol, they were taken to McMurdo station where some were further preserved with formaldehyde.

((Wikinews)) How did you come to be involved with this discovery?

Marymegan Daly: Frank Rack got in touch after they returned from Antarctica in hopes that I could help with an identification on the anemone.

((Wikinews)) What was your first reaction upon learning there was an undiscovered ecosystem under the ice in the Ross Sea?

MD I was amazed and really excited. I think to say it was unexpected is inaccurate, because it implies that there was a well-founded expectation of something. The technology that Frank and his colleagues are using to explore the ice is so important because, given our lack of data, we have no reasonable expectation of what it should be like, or what it shouldn’t be like.

((Wikinews)) There’s a return trip planned hopefully for 2015, with both biologists and ANDRILL geologists. Are you intending to go there yourself?

MD I would love to. But I am also happy to not go, as long as someone collects more animals on my behalf! What I want to do with the animals requires new material preserved in diverse ways, but it doesn’t require me to be there. Although I am sure that being there would enhance my understanding of the animals and the system in which they live, and would help me formulate more and better questions about the anemones, ship time is expensive, especially in Antarctica, and if there are biologists whose contribution is predicated on being there, they should have priority to be there.

((Wikinews)) These animals are shrouded in mystery. Some of the most intriguing questions are chemical; do they produce some kind of antifreeze, and is that orange glow in the ROV lights their own? Talk us through the difficulties encountered when trying to find answers with the specimens on hand.

MD The samples we have are small in terms of numbers and they are all preserved in formalin (a kind of formaldehyde solution). The formalin is great for preserving structures, but for anemones, it prevents study of DNA or of the chemistry of the body. This means we can’t look at the issue you raise with these animals. What we could do, however, was to study anatomy and figure out what it is, so that when we have samples preserved for studying e.g., the genome, transcriptome, or metabolome, or conduct tests of the fluid in the burrows or in the animals themselves, we can make precise comparisons, and figure out what these animals have or do (metabolically or chemically) that lets them live where they live.
Just knowing a whole lot about a single species isn’t very useful, even if that animal is as special as these clearly are — we need to know what about them is different and thus related to living in this strange way. The only way to get at what’s different is to make comparisons with close relatives. We can start that side of the work now, anticipating having more beasts in the future.
In terms of their glow, I suspect that it’s not theirs — although luminescence is common in anemone relatives, they don’t usually make light themselves. They do make a host of florescent proteins, and these may interact with the light of the ROV to give that gorgeous glow.

((Wikinews)) What analysis did you perform on the specimens and what equipment was used?

MD I used a dissecting scope to look at the animal’s external anatomy and overall body organization (magnification of 60X). I embedded a few of the animals in wax and then cut them into very thin slices using a microtome, mounted the slices on microscope slides, stained the slices to enhance contrast, and then looked at those slides under a compound microscope (that’s how I got the pictures of the muscles etc in the paper). I used that same compound scope to look at squashed bits of tissue to see the stinging capsules (=nematocysts).
I compared the things I saw under the ‘scopes to what had been published on other species in this group. This step seems trivial, but it is really the most important part! By comparing my observations to what my colleagues and predecessors had found, I figured out what group it belongs to, and was able to determine that within that group, it was a new species.

((Wikinews)) It was three years between recovery of specimens and final publication, why did it take so long?

MD You mean, how did we manage to make it all happen so quickly, right? 🙂 It was about two years from when Frank sent me specimens to when we got the paper out. Some of that time was just lost time — I had other projects in the queue that I needed to finish. Once we figured out what it was, we played a lot of manuscript email tag, which can be challenging and time consuming given the differing schedules that folks keep in terms of travel, field work, etc. Manuscript review and processing took about four months.

((Wikinews)) What sort of difficulties were posed by the unorthodox preservatives used, and what additional work might be possible on a specimen with intact DNA?

MD The preservation was not unorthodox — they followed best practices for anatomical preservation. Having DNA-suitable material will let us see whether there are new genes, or genes turned on in different ways and at different times that help explain how these animals burrow into hard ice and then survive in the cold. I am curious about the population structure of the “fields” of anemones — the group to which Edwardsiella andrillae belongs includes many species that reproduce asexually, and it’s possible that the fields are “clones” produced asexually rather than the result of sexual reproduction. DNA is the only way to test this.

((Wikinews)) Do you have any theories about the strategies employed to cope with the harsh environment of burrowing inside an ice shelf?

MD I think there must be some kind of antifreeze produced — the cells in contact with ice would otherwise freeze.

((Wikinews)) How has such an apparently large population of clearly unusual sea anemones, not to mention the other creatures caught on camera, gone undetected for so long?

MD I think this reflects how difficult it is to get under the ice and to collect specimens. That being said, since the paper came out, I have been pointed towards two other reports that are probably records of these species: one from Japanese scientists who looked at footage from cameras attached to seals and one from Americans who dove under ice. In both of these cases, the anemone (if that’s what they saw) was seen at a distance, and no specimens were collected. Without the animals in hand, or the capability of a ROV to get close up for pictures, it is hard to know what has been seen, and lacking a definitive ID, hard to have the finding appropriately indexed or contextualized.

((Wikinews)) Would it be fair to say this suggests there may be other undiscovered species of sea anemone that burrow into hard substrates such as ice?

MD I hope so! What fascinates me about sea anemones is that they’re able to do things that seem impossible given their seemingly limited toolkit. This finding certainly expands the realm of possible.

Police find owner of Wendy’s chili finger

Monday, May 16, 2005

On May 13, San Jose police announced they identified the person whose finger tip Anna Ayala claimed she found in a bowl of Wendy’s chili. Police say that Ayala’s husband, James Plascencia, was a work associate of the man who five months ago lost the finger tip in work related accident.

The owner of the finger, Brian Paul Rossiter, lost his finger tip while working at an asphalt company back in December 2004. Police were able to trace it after receiving information from Pat Hogue, who called a Wendy’s hot-line. Hogue worked as a cost estimator at an asphalt company at the same time as the co-workers Pascencia and the man who lost the portion of his little finger.

The tipster was unaware, until after Ayala’s arrest, of the connection between the Wendy’s “finger-pointer” and her husband Plascencia. The finger was given to Ayala’s husband as payment for a $50 debt. They do not know how it was transported or preserved during the five months until it turned up in the bowl of chili. More arrests are possible, according to police.

Anna Ayala was arrested on April 21. She has been charged with one count of attempted grand theft in connection with the Wendy’s incident, and one count of grand theft in an unrelated mobile home sale.

The Green Party of Canada to elect new leader

Saturday, August 26, 2006

The Green Party of Canada will elect a new leader today. The new leader will replace Jim Harris, who stepped down after holding the position since 2003.

The candidates are:

May and Chernushenko, have emerged as frontrunners of the leadership race.

“We draw pretty much equally from across the entire political spectrum,” Jim Harris told CBC News. “If you were a Progressive Conservative, as I was, where do you go? The Green party supports Kyoto. We were opposed to the war in Iraq and yet at the same time we’re fiscally responsible. This is something that’s attractive to people.”

The Green party didn’t get any member elected in the January 23 general election, but the party did get about 4.5 per cent of the vote, enough to secure $1 million a year in federal funding. Chernushenko, an environmental consultant in Ottawa, got the most votes of any Green candidate.

Most Green party members have already cast their ballots by mail for the next leader.

May says that “her national profile and background as an adviser to the environment minister during Conservative Brian Mulroney‘s government are important for getting more Canadians interested in the party”. May referred to tackling climate change, urging electoral reform and ending Canada’s military mission in Afghanistan.

“I don’t really understand yet what she stands for. It’s a lot of rhetoric,” Globe and Mail columnist Jane Taber told CTV Newsnet.

“We will elect MPs by continuing to gain the trust and confidence of Canadians, and by reaching out to Canadians outside of our traditional base of support,” said Chernushenko. Chernushenko said the party should parachute star candidates into key ridings.

“Chernushenko sees a need for government regulation but wants to involve the private sector a bit more, and that’s consistent with Jim Harris’s ideas,” said Jonathan Malloy, political science professor at Ottawa’s Carleton University.

Jim Fannon, who spoke casually to the audience about his talents as a mediator, capable of bridging political gaps between the Greens, Liberals, Conservatives and New Democrats. Chernushenko says though he may not always be able to “wow” a crowd, he remains a strong communicator and team player. “I can’t do the rah-rah motivational thing, like Jim (Harris) did an incredible job at, but I can go very deep on complex issues and explain them in plain language,” he said Friday.

Josh Matlow of Earth Roots said: “Elizabeth May is someone I would want to lock myself to a tree with; David Chernushenko is someone I would want to discuss policy with; and Jim Fannon is someone I would go for a beer with”.

Political analysts consider May, a veteran envirnomental activist but also a newcomer to the party, to be the strong favourite to win the race against party stalwart Chernushenko.

UN aid convoys face increasing attacks in Darfur

Friday, July 27, 2007

The United Nations (UN) World Food Programme (WFP) raised concerns about a dramatic escalation in attacks on food aid convoys by armed bandits in the Darfur region of Sudan. WFP says the attacks constrain its ability to feed the more than two million people in the area receiving aid.

Negotiations over a UN Security Council resolution authorising a joint UN-African Union security force for the region continue but full deployment could take up to a year.

“In the last two weeks, nine food convoys have been attacked by gunmen across Darfur,” said Kenro Oshidari, WFP Sudan Representative. “WFP staff and contractors are being stopped at gunpoint, dragged out of their vehicles and robbed with alarming frequency,” he said.

“These abhorrent attacks, which target the very people who are trying to help the most vulnerable in Darfur, must be brought under control,” he added.

A WFP official told Wikinews that the attacks and robberies have occurred in all regions of Darfur, and that the blame can’t be ascribed to a particular group. “Frequently the bandits are wearing uniforms but often in one group of bandits there may be more than one uniform. Thus, we are not pointing fingers at any one group.” said Emilia Casella, WFP Spokesperson for Sudan. “We are calling on all parties to respect the neutrality of humanitarian convoys and their drivers, who are delivering food to civilians who are victims of the conflict.”

“On July 20, a convoy traveling on the Tawilla-Kaura road in North Darfur was stopped by 16 armed men. The drivers were forced out of their vehicles and the robbers demanded 5 Sudanese pounds from each (roughly equivalent to US$2.50). Those who could not pay were beaten. Similar incidents have happened on the same road in the past two weeks.”

According to WFP, in 2007 so far, 18 WFP convoys have been attacked – “shot at, looted, drivers robbed and/or injured”. Four vehicles were stopped and the drivers and passengers robbed. Six vehicles were stolen, where the gunmen drove away with the WFP staff members still inside, though they were later released. “There were no major physical injuries, but naturally such experiences are very traumatic,” said Casella. “These incidents have occurred in all three of the Darfurs, in areas controlled by various groups or the government.”

In the week of July 15-21, there were five incidents in South Darfur, during which a total of seven trucks were looted of approximately 10.5 tonnes of food assistance.

The Darfur operation is the WFP’s largest humanitarian mission, with about 790 staff working to feed more than two million people every month.

The WFP indicated that it has been difficult to hire and retain the commercial trucking companies used to move food and supplies throughout the region due to the risks involved in the service. WFP Public Affairs Officer in Washington D.C. Jennifer Parmelee told Wikinews that “hiring reliable transport in other insecure environments, [such as] Afghanistan and Somalia, is extremely challenging.”

Air service is employed for remote locations and where delivery by road has become too dangerous.

Parmelee told Wikinews that the “increasing insecurity will almost certainly further constrain [WFP’s] ability to operate in Darfur – it already has.” WFP Spokesperson for Sudan, Emilia Casella, indicated that “humanitarian access is likely to be increasingly difficult due to insecurity.” However, the situation has not prevented all aid delivery. “Despite insecurity and access problems, WFP food assistance reached about 2.6 million people in Darfur last month,” said Casella.

A UN resolution on the deployment of a hybrid African Union (AU) and UN force of 26,000 troops is working its way through the UN. Britain and France presented revisions to the draft, which dropped a threat of “further measures” against Sudan for obstructing peace efforts, though Sudan’s ambassador, Abdalmahmood Abdalhaleem, has objected to the revisions.

A deadline of December 31 exists to transfer authority in Sudan’s Darfur region from the AU to the proposed AU-UN force. Full deployment of all 26,000 troops would take up to one year.

The draft resolution would allow the use of force to protect the mission’s personnel and humanitarian workers and would “protect civilians under threat of physical violence”.

Jennifer Parmelee of the WFP suggests that the deployment of the hybrid force under such a mandate would be a positive development in the aid agency’s ability to carry out their humanitarian assistance. “Sure an expanded AU/UN peacekeeping force would help.” said Parmelee. “As it is, AU is stretched very very thin, and…is unable to accompany most of our convoys.”

According to WFP, there are approximately 12,000 humanitarian workers in Darfur, which is a drop in numbers even though the need for aid workers has increased.

The Difference Between Peyronie’s Disease And Penile Curvature}

Some men experience a normal curvature of the penis. Their erect penis may bend in an upward or downward curve or to one side of the body.

Some men experience a normal curvature of the penis. Their erect penis may bend in an upward or downward curve or to one side of the body. According to medical experts at the Mayo Clinic, a bent penis is a rather common condition. After all, penises vary in size and shape. Unless a bent penis causes pain or interferes with sexual intercourse, it is usually not a serious problem.

A bent penis can become serious matter, however. Some men suffer from severe penis disorders like Peyronie?s disease, a medical condition caused by the development of scar tissue inside the penis. Peyronie’s causes abnormal penile curvatures and painful erections. It often causes significant anxiety and stress between men and their sexual partners.

To determine the right method of treatment and correct the problem, it is vital to distinguish between Peyronie’s disease and a simple curvature of the penis. Men can best understand these differences by studying and learning the symptoms, causes, risk factors, and treatment options for each condition.

A Bent Penis: A Normal And Common Condition

When men are sexually aroused, blood flows into the spongy areas in the shaft of the penis, causing it to expand and harden into an erection. When the spongy area inside the penis do not expand evenly, the penis can bend.

Medical research indicates that nearly 20 percent of all men are born with a curved penis. For those who are born with the condition, the curvature is typically due to normal differences in penis anatomy. Men who develop a penis curve later in life usually experience damage to the penis or some kind of change in penis anatomy. In the case of Peyronie?s disease, scar tissue grows inside the penis, causing an abnormal curve and painful erections.

Doctors list numerous underlying causes for a bent penis. Inherited fibrous tissue (collagen) and normal differences in penis anatomy are two common causes. Penile injury, autoimmune disorders, and certain medications also contribute to curvatures. In fact, beta blockers used to treat high blood pressure can sometimes cause the penis to bend.

Although a curved penis may not require medical treatment, many men choose to correct their condition with various therapies. As some studies suggest, women sometimes find penis curvatures to be unattractive and sexually undesirable. As a result, sexual intercourse can become less pleasurable, and more painful, for both sex partners.

Today, men can correct their penile curvature without surgical intervention. A penile traction device is a popular treatment method. Of course, there are times when surgery may be necessary. A bent penis that causes physical pain may interfere with sexual intercourse. Consulting a urologist, or specialist who deals with urinary and sexual problems, may be in order.

Peyronie?s Disease: An Abnormal Penis Disorde

Peyronies disease is a medical condition that results from scar tissue and causes painful erections. Essentially, it is a connective tissue disorder. While a curved erection is common for some men, Peyronie’s causes a significant penis curve and intense pain. It can prevent men from having sexual intercourse, and it often contributes to erectile dysfunction (ED), or impotence.

The symptoms may appear suddenly and unexpectedly, or they may develop over time. The five most common signs include scar tissue, penile curvature, penis pain, impotence, and a short penis. The scar tissue associated with Peyronie?s disease, also known as plaques and characterized by flat lumps, can be felt under the penis skin.

Peyronie?s disease causes an unusual and significant bend in the penis, which may curve upward, downward, or to the left or right side. In some cases, the erect penis looks like an hourglass with a thin band around the shaft.

Pain is a common symptom. Some men have pain only during an erection, while others experience painful orgasms. A severely curved penis may even be painful to the touch.

Men with Peyronie?s disease often experience erection problems, such as erectile dysfunction. They may find it extremely difficult to get an erection or maintain one. In some men, the penis may actually become shorter due to curvature from the disease.

Minor penis injuries usually do not lead to Peyronie’s disease. But numerous factors may contribute to poor healing or the build-up of scar tissue. These include heredity and genetics, age, and connective tissue disorders. Cigarette smoking and prostate surgery are also linked to the development of Peyronie’s disease.

The abnormal curvature and intense pain associated with Peyronie’s rarely improves without medical intervention. An accurate diagnosis is necessary to rule out other health problems and determine the best treatment option.

Doctor usually take a ?wait and see? approach if a bent penis meets three conditions: (1) the penis curve is not severe, (2) sex is possible without pain, and (3) the pain is very mild. Oral medications and penile injections are sometimes used to treat penis curvatures. But current medical evidence indicates that these methods are limited in their effectiveness.

Doctors typically recommend surgery only if a penile deformity is severe, painful, and prevents sexual intercourse. Common surgical procedures include shortening the penis, lengthening the penis, and inserting penile implants.

The Best Treatment Option For A Bent Penis

Barring the need for surgery, the best treatment method for a curved penis is the penis enlargement process. Whether someone has a normal bent penis or penile deformity caused by Peyronie’s disease, non-invasive traction therapy is safe and effective for most men.

A penis extender lightly stretches the penis on a daily basis. Also known as a penile traction device, it is easy to use, and the enlargement process is pain-free. Best of all, the penis extender does not interfere with normal penis functions.

A Penis Extender exposes the penis to constant traction, forming minute tears along the penis shaft. During the course of treatment, the body will recognize these tears as gaps in the penis tissue. Through the healing process, the body repairs these gaps with mitosis and cytokinesis.

Mitosis is a process of cellular division. As the penis tissue cells divide and multiply through mitosis, they fill in the gaps caused by penile traction. The cell splitting continues through cytokinesis, or the final stages of cellular division and tissue growth.

The Penis Extender acts as a brace. Not only does it correct penile curvature, but it enlarges the penis in length and girth. Anecdotal studies indicate greater satisfaction (and less anxiety) by men who use a penile traction device, and by their sex partners, as well. In most cases, the Penis Extender is the best treatment option for curvature of the penis, whatever the cause.

Easy Finger Food For The Green Party}

Easy Finger Food for the Green Party

by

Andrea Wyn

Yes, just a few days away and the luck of the Irish will be with you. Just in case you are hosting a St. Patrick’s Day party, I thought I would give you some easy finger food ideas to serve at your event. And of course, since it is St. Patrick’s Day, you can easily theme your party as the green party everyone has to attend.

Let’s first look at how to make the green party work for you and the environment. Three easy words in keeping with this theme are reduce, recycle and reuse. Here are some easy steps you can take to fulfill this theme:

Create a compost heap in your backyard with the food scraps from the party and flowers once they wilt Use bio-degradable silverware and plates Set-up a recyclable trash can for all your bar bottles and cans Use Evite for your guest list If possible, have your guests carpool to the party For tabletop decor, use succulent plants or natural greens such as rosemary. You can create a rosemary wreath with wire and rosemary and then place a pillar candle and hurricane glass in the center to give the table an added glow.

Another natural tabletop decor idea for the green party is to use fresh artichokes as votive candle holders. Just take the artichoke, hollow out the center and then place a glass votive holder in the center with a tealight. Easy and fast to make with minimal cleanup! Finally, purchase some green colored and decorative fabric, which you can reuse during the December holiday time, to add a bit of dimension and more color to your buffet.

Now for the easy finger food menu. So many of these food items you can purchase already prepared thus making your party set-up time minimal.

Green Vegetable Crudités with Spinach Dip

Green Olive Tapenade and Goat Cheese Canapés

Mini Corned Beef Sandwiches

Green Goddess Chicken Salad served in Lettuce Cups

Split Pea Soup served in Shot Glasses

Mint Brownies

Butter Cookies Dipped in Green Sugar Crystals

Green Apple Bites Covered with Caramel

Here is a hint to make one of these easy finger food desserts, the butter cookies with green sugar crystals. Just purchase the already made butter cookie dough and follow the cooking instructions. While the cookies are baking, place regular sugar in a glass bowl.

In a separate bowl, mix together blue and yellow food coloring to create green and then add it to the sugar. Stir the sugar until all of it is green and be sure to stir it well so that it dries and is not clumping together. Once the cookies are finished, take them out of the oven and while they are still warm, dip the top side of the cookie into the green sugar to coat the top and then cool the cookie on a baker’s rack. Plate and serve with your other desserts.

I hope you picked up an idea or two with these easy finger food ideas for the green party you may be hosting for St. Patrick’s Day. Until next time, remember the Budget Bash mantra: make it simple, stylish, fun and economical to all!

60-year old woman gives birth to twins

Wednesday, May 23, 2007

Frieda Birnbaum, aged 60, gave birth to two sons on May 22, at 12:44 pm at Hackensack University Medical Center in Trenton, New Jersey. Both babies were delivered by Caesarean section, and each weighed 4 pounds, 11 ounces and are doing well.

“The mom is in recovery, and she and the babies are doing really well,” said Nancy Radwin a spokeswoman for the medical center.

Doctors believe Birnbaum may be the oldest woman in the United States to give birth to twins. Birnbaum has been married to her husband Ken for 38 years, and underwent in-vitro fertilization last year in Cape Town, South Africa. The couple already had three children, a daughter, 29 and two sons, 6 and 33.

“This is so wonderful, I feel so relaxed. It has been a great experience. I don’t feel like I’m 60. I don’t know what 60 is meant to be,” said Birnbaum as quoted by Newsday, who quotes FOX News.

Women giving birth this late in age, says Radwin, face high risks when they become pregnant.

“There were no guidelines of what to do and what to look for in a pregnancy at the age to 60. Can the heart or the kidneys withstand the pregnancy? It becomes a little risky to take care of this pregnancy,” added Radwin.

One year ago, a now 60 year-old woman also from New Jersey named Lauren Cohen gave birth to twins. Birnbaum and Cohen became friends after Birnbaum contacted Cohen about her giving birth.

Currently, Maria del Carmen Bousada Lara, who lives in Spain, is the oldest woman in the world to give birth to twins. On December 29, 2006, she gave birth to two boys. She was 67 at the time.
